Language modernized and some punctuation altered from The Book of Worship for Church and Home (1965), of The Methodist Church:

O God, you have taught us the joy of serving you and have given us an earnest of the peace that passes understanding.  Fill us also with righteous discontent, that we may be perfectly at rest while injustice is done to your people, and your children cry out in anguish.  Grant us so to desire your kingdom, as a pearl of great price, that we may discern the signs of its coming upon earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
