Said in unison:

Merciful God, you lead us by the cords of compassion; we seek your forgiveness through Christ’s intercession.  Fill us anew with your Holy Spirit, so that we may faithfully obey your will.  When we are vengeful, purge our thoughts of resentment and anger.  When we bear false witness, turn us from deceit to truthfulness.  Cleanse us of selfish desires, and free us to respond to your holy word.  In righteousness remake us, and through Christ restore us.
