Said in unison:

God of freedom, set at liberty we who are captive, and grant us absolution as we confess our sin.  Prisoners by self-interest, we disregard neighbors.  We bolster our own egos at others’ expense.  When slander is rampant, we seldom stop it.  When rumors are rife, we seek not the source.  Help us to check our destructive ways lest we consume each other, and cause us to use our freedom in more loving ways.
