God of righteousness, truth, and justice, who did judge your people according to the statues delivered to Moses, we praise you for the mercy of Christ’s intercession. In Christ’s name we gather and are assured of your presence; we bow in adoration; we sing of your glory; your word is proclaimed for our guidance and nurture. Look now with favor on our worship, as in Christ we seek to be faithful.

You are worthy of all praise, O God; your judgment is sure. Like a refiner’s fire, you purify your people and temper their desires. The heat is your love for them; the flame is the Spirit’s power within; the light is the light which illumines the world. Come, fire from above, and fill our beings, as we worship and adore our maker.

O God of our salvation, with dread deeds you answer us with deliverance; you are the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas. By your strength you establish the mountains and still the waters. You calm the troubled breasts of all who put their trust in you. We shall not cease to give you praise and bless your holy name.

Shield and Defender, how worthy are you of the praises we bring. We sing of your mercy; we tell of your glory; we speak of your greatness to the assembled throng. We need only cry aloud and you will hear, O God; you send your Spirit as our comfort and strength. We shall dwell evermore within your enfolding protection through the faith of Christ Jesus, in whose name we pray.
